Immersive Therapy Sessions in Colorado

Focused, results-driven therapy to get you where you want, faster

Is traditional weekly therapy not working for you?

Does it feel like you’ve been in therapy for years, but the needle isn’t moving

Do you tend to warm up just as the session is ending

Do you feel rushed because there isn’t the time to fully process a topic in an hour-long session?

Traditional 60-minute sessions don’t work for everyone.

That’s where therapy immersives come in. Therapy immersives are a fancy way of saying longer or extended sessions (aka intensives).

They can be any length – I offer anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours, it depends on what you need.

Imagine doing 6 months’ worth of therapy in a day – that’s the power of therapy immersives.

What are Therapy Immersives?

Therapy Immersives:

  • are short-term, accelerated therapy

  • can save time and money

  • are a focused way to do a deep-dive on specific issues

  • provide more space than weekly hour-long sessions, so you can process things more completely

  • mitigate that rushed feeling to “get somewhere” in such short time

  • can be used in conjunction with weekly/regular therapy

  • take less time away from work than weekly sessions/create less scheduling stress

What’s unique about immersives is the value goes beyond the sum of its parts. The extra time allows faster change than weekly therapy, with less time and money spent on therapy overall.

  • cancel plans without feeling like a bad person.

  • stop feeling like you somehow tricked your friends into liking you or admiring you.

  • feel relaxed and comfortable in your skin.

  • build self-compassion so you can try new things, take risks, and live a fuller life without your inner critic holding you back.

Immersive therapy can help you…

Cookie-cutter therapy isn’t cutting it.

You deserve a unique, tailored approach to therapy that actually works for you.

Who are therapy immersives helpful for?

Immersives are good options for people who:

  • are too busy to schedule weekly therapy

  • tend to be numb, disassociated, or disconnected from themselves

  • have complex trauma or single-event trauma

  • have anxiety and need extra support to slow down and ground

  • want to intentionally focus on one issue

  • are burnt out from weekly sessions

  • want to see a specialist in addition to their regular therapist

How is immersive therapy more affordable and efficient than weekly therapy?

Weekly therapy typically looks like:

  • 10-15 mins checking in

  • 25-30 mins processing

  • 10-15 mins closing

A month of weekly sessions is an $800 investment.

3 hour immersive therapy typically looks like:

  • 10-15 mins checking in

  • 150-160 mins processing

  • 10-15 mins closing

A single 3-hour immersive session is a $720 investment for significantly more processing time than a month’s worth of weekly sessions, and over less time.

Immersive Therapy FAQ

    • PTSD

    • complex trauma

    • single event trauma, like a car crash or injury

    • chronic anxiety or depression

    • poor self esteem or negative self talk

    • relationship issues

  • Immersives can have a profound impact, depending on how long it is. Complex trauma tends to require more than one immersives, because the chronic nature of it takes more time to unravel and heal from. People who have done immersives with me say they feel more grounded and relaxed, confident in communicating honestly with their partners, and connected to who they really are–not who their trauma tells them they are. In other words, they feel better about themselves, more comfortable in their power, and can truly believe things like “My preferences don’t make me a bad person”.

  • Absolutely! Many people find that immersives are a great addition to their regular therapy. Immersives are wonderful opportunities to be laser-focused, and to try different approaches than your regular therapist offers (like somatic therapy). I am happy to work with your current therapist to support you; you do not need to choose one or the other.

  • No, they don’t have to be. There is flexibility with how often and how many you do. Some people enjoy the structure so much that they schedule regular immersives. Others may only need 1-3 sessions to meet their goals.

  • This is a premium, personally-tailored service that provides more value to clients. For this reason, higher fees are charged.

My immersives rate is $240 an hour.

  • Yes, depending on the plan, some or all of the cost can be covered. Like most specialists, I am considered an out-of-network provider, meaning you can use out-of-network benefits to cover the cost, but can’t use typical in-network benefits. Out-of-network benefits vary from plan to plan, so you will need to contact your insurance to find out what yours are.

  • We will have a consultation to see if we’re a good fit and to answer any remaining questions you may have. You can schedule a call by emailing me directly at marthacartertherapy@gmail.com, or using the contact page on this website.

I offer a new kind of therapy so you can end the tired cycle of expecting a different result from the same old sh*t.
